Kaketch is a resourceful professional with extensive hands-on experience in research, project/programme management, policy analysis, monitoring & evaluation, partnerships & civil society engagement focusing on, youth employment creation, social protection, political governance, water governance, urban governance, decentralization, democracy, and education within Africa and more specifically Kenya. Kaketch champions the transformation of Africa through research evidence in public policymaking. He has been designing and implementing research projects/programmes, monitoring/reporting, project evaluations since 2010 for various donors including USAID, UKAID, Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Hewlett Foundation, and Mastercard Foundation.
Currently, Kaketch is a Programme Officer – Research and Policy Uptake with the Partnership for African Social Governance Research (PASGR). He is in charge of various programmes including; Youth aspirations and resilience research uptake, social protection project, policy cultures study, and Utafiti Sera houses. Utafiti Sera (Kiswahili for research policy) is a combination of many things that ensure and enhance policy outcomes. It is a ‘process’, place’, ‘forum’, ‘platform’, or a ‘vehicle’ for transforming research evidence-based knowledge for policy uptake. Utafiti Sera is the space for research evidence and brings together over 5 houses. Kaketch is in charge of three houses;
Kaketch is a Chevening Scholarship alumnus and holds an MSc, in Public Policy and Administration, London School of Economics and Political Science – UK, MA in Political Science and Public Administration, University of Nairobi – Kenya (University of Nairobi Merit Scholarship) and BA in Political Science and Sociology, University of Nairobi – Kenya.
