The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is a pan-African not-for-profit organisation based in Nairobi that aims to increase the capacity of African academic institutions and researchers to contribute stronger evidence based research on public policy that can have a positive impact on pro-poor development policies in Africa. It was established in response to the declining capacity in political and social science research output in sub-Saharan Africa.

PASGR seeks to recruit a Research Manager to lead our research initiatives and provide programmatic and technical direction to the Research and Policy Unit. Reporting to the Executive Director, the role of the jobholder is to manage the Research Programme (RP), offer leadership in Research projects, influence policy, fundraising and engaging the Research stakeholders, while coordinating monitoring and evaluation. The post holder is expected to have a high level of credibility and record of accomplishment in published social science research.
He/she must be able to interact comfortably and confidently with peers and associates in the African and international research and academic communities. He/she must also have a record of engagement with policy actors and institutions such as think tanks, research institutes, government, and intergovernmental bodies, regional or international organisations, civil society and/or media in Africa.
