The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is a pan-African not-for-profit organisation based in Nairobi that aims to increase the capacity of African academic institutions and researchers to contribute stronger evidence based research on public policy that can have a positive impact on pro-poor development policies in Africa. It was established in response to the declining capacity in political and social science research output in sub-Saharan Africa.

Those were sentiments from a participant in the just concluded PDT’s premier institutional-based research methods training at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The training was the response to a request from the university to train their faculty. It begun with a telephone call early February from Mrs. Nonsikelelo Ndlovu, the Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of the University’s Training and Staff Development after realizing that more and more faculty members kept going to her for sponsorship to attend PASGR’s( Partnership for African Social and Governance Research)regular Nairobi-based methods training…….
