PASGR is actively implementing the Accountability for Water (AfW) Research and Action Programme in Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, with outreach initiatives in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Liberia, and Ghana. This programme is dedicated to enhancing accountability and fostering good governance in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector. Led by PASGR, the AfW consortium includes Water Witness International (UK), Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network (KEWASNET), Shahidi wa Maji (Tanzania), and Water Witness (Ethiopia). Through a pioneering blend of action research, outreach, and policy engagement, we aim to drive long-term improvements in water service delivery.
Recognizing the essential role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and stakeholders, we are committed to providing the necessary knowledge and skills for effective water governance. To this end, PASGR invites participants from the WASH sector to attend our masterclass from April 7 to 30, 2025. The class will be delivered in a self-paced format complemented by facilitator-led virtual sessions lasting no more than two hours per week.
The key learning outcomes of the masterclass will ensure that participants:
a. Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the essential principles of water governance, including the critical aspects of accountability regarding access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation.
b. Gain familiarity with pertinent national, regional, and international laws, policies, and guidelines that govern the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector, empowering them to navigate these regulatory landscapes effectively.
c. Develop a clear understanding of the various accountability mechanisms and approaches employed by WASH sector actors and communities, enabling them to confidently advocate for improved WASH services.
d. Are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement effective water governance and accountability programmes within their communities, ensuring a proactive approach to achieving sustainable WASH solutions.
Register for free to join us in advancing accountability and service delivery in this vital sector.
